Founding Doctor

Dr. Li-Herng (Eric) Liu

Dr. Li-Herng (Eric) Liu, M.D is an ACGME acredited fellowship-trained interventional pain medicine specialist and anesthesiologist. He is board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine. Dr. Liu is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, International Spine Intervention Society, and the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians.

Dr. Liu firmly believes in the importance of multi-disciplinary approach with holistic concept to the treatment of acute and chronic pain and is proficient in a wide array of pain treatment modalities, ranging from basic therapies to advanced invasive procedures (injections, radiofrequency ablation and spinal cord stimulation). He educates his patients on all the available treatment options in managing pain and is committed to improving patient's quality of life through personalized care. Most importantly, Dr. Liu cherishes the trust and mutual respect that exist in the patient-physician relationship.

Dr. Mitchell Engle

Dr. Engle completed the Medical Scientist Training Program at The University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine which awarded him both an M.D. and a Ph.D. in Pharmacology. It was during his Ph.D. training that he developed a passion for Pain Medicine studying the role of the spinal cord in processing pain related to nerve injuries. He subsequently completed a residency in Anesthesiology at the University of Alabama-Birmingham where he was selected as Chief Resident. Dr. Engle then went on to complete a fellowship in Pain Medicine at the prestigious M.D. Anderson Cancer. After his fellowship, he was asked to stay as an M.D. Anderson Cancer Center faculty, which he did for five years. During his last three years at M.D. Anderson, Dr. Engle served as the Pain Medicine Fellowship Program Director. In this role, he led an elite Pain Medicine Fellowship and developed the nations first year long course in Evidence Based Pain Medicine. Dr. Engle is double board certified in Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine.

Dr. Lance LaFleur, M.D.

Dr. J. Lance LaFleur is a fellowship-trained, interventional pain physician who is board-certified in both anesthesiology and pain medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He is also a musculoskeletal and regenerative medicine specialist certified by the Interventional Orthobiologics Foundation.

Dr. LaFleur obtained his Bachelor of Science in neuroscience from Tulane University where he graduated magna cum laude with departmental honors and thesis. He then completed a four-year MD/MBA program in health organization management at Texas Tech University School of Medicine. Dr. LaFleur then moved to Houston where he completed both his transitional internship and anesthesiology residency at The University of Texas Medical School. During this time, he trained at some of the nation’s top institutions including M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston Methodist Hospital, Texas Heart Institute, and Memorial Hermann Hospital – Texas Medical Center. He decided to subspecialize in interventional pain medicine, and he completed a fellowship at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle which is a national leader in the fields of regional anesthesia and pain medicine.

While Dr. LaFleur enjoys helping patients with a wide variety of symptoms, he is interested in cancer pain, post-laminectomy syndrome, and complex regional pain syndrome. He has presented his research at the American Society of Anesthesiologists Annual Meeting, published clinical studies in peer-reviewed journals, authored several book chapters, and served as a faculty instructor at both neurostimulation and ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia workshops. He is an active member of several organizations including the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, Texas Pain Society, and Interventional Orthobiologics Foundation.

Dr. Eduardo Garcia, M.D.

Eduardo Garcia, M.D. completed his bachelor’s degree in Biology at Texas A&M University, and Medical Degree and residency at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. Over his extensive career, Dr. Garcia has not only dedicated his time to treating patients, but he also serves as a clinical assistant professor for the Department of Anesthesiology at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Texas where he won the Top Doc Award for Physician Educator.

Dr. Garcia is a cofounder of Space City Pain Specialists. He has served as the president of the Houston Chapter of the Texas Pain Society, been published, been involved in several extensive research studies, and was a physician advisor for the Texas Association of Physician Assistants Society.

Dr. Daniel Dat Nguyen

Dr. Daniel Dat Nguyen is the newest ACGME accredited member of the Institute of Precision Pain Medicine team and main physician at our Baytown, TX location. He treats with a well-rounded philosophy which encompasses Osteopathic Medicine, Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R), and interventional chronic pain management. Quality of life through improvement of the mind, body, and spirit is a core principle that guides the way he treats.

Dr. Nguyen began his medical training at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where he was chosen to be an undergraduate fellow to teach Osteopathic manipulation techniques and principles to the student physicians. After completing an internship at Mercy Catholic Medical Center in Pennsylvania he traveled down to the great state of Texas to further his education in residency at the Baylor College of Medicine PM&R program. There he was able to train with great mentors to care for patients with musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, spinal cord, and brain injuries. He took care of many of these patients at the Texas Institute of Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR) which was recently deemed as a national innovation center by Congress. His fellowship in interventional chronic pain management was completed at the University of Texas Medical Branch in facilities such as MD Anderson, Shriners pediatric burn unit, UTMB League City, and Galveston.

Dr. Nguyen is passionate about helping his patients manage their pain and improve function. From meditation and physical therapy to the most cutting-edge treatments such as spinal cord stimulators or intrathecal drug delivery, he is ready to help you on a road towards a better quality of life.

In his spare time Dr. Nguyen enjoys rock climbing, running around with his two Boston terriers, and eating his wife’s homemade Japanese food.

Experienced executive with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital & health care industry. Twenty-eight years of combined experience in operations, financial analysis and business development. Strong executive leader with a Master’s in Health Administration (MHA), MS in Health Professions Management, and a Master of Legal Studies- Emphasis in Health Law, Policy & Management.

Scott Jackson

Scott is Head of Wealth Management and a Portfolio Manager at Doliver with over 20 years of experience in the securities market. Prior to joining Doliver, Scott was a Portfolio Manager at Legacy Asset Management and an Energy and Healthcare Analyst for Andrews Capital Management, a hedge fund based in Houston, TX. Before Andrews Capital Management, he owned his own equity trading firm, SMJ Securities. Scott began his career working as an equity trader in New York.

Huiyin is a Financial Analyst at Doliver, specializing in accounting, fund reporting and investment analysis for the healthcare portfolio. Prior to joining Doliver, she worked in institutional equity sales at Horizon Insights, where she honed her skills in equity research.

Brett is a Financial Analyst at Doliver Advisors, specializing in investment analysis, AI and technology-driven business transformation. Prior to joining Doliver, Brett interned at Charles Schwab in the Fund Operations Department and has a background in entrepreneurship.
